Review of Today’s Report

Kuwait Coronavirus Updates of April 29, 2020, is the worst of all to date because the number of new cases climbed to 300 which is a huge number so far for a single day. This is so much alarming that the majority of the new cases are in-contact cases. Just thing if in spite of this much strong curfew if we have this many cases then what would be the situation in case of no curfew.

Although the recovery rate of patients is also increasing and today 213 patients have recovered but still number of new cases must be decreased in the near future. The Govt of Kuwait must be planning to take some new steps to stop the increase in new cases. Let’s hope for the best. Please don’t forget to share your precious feelings in the comments box.

Goof News

This is very good and big news for all the people who are living in Kuwait. Coronavirus has been started from China and they controlled it very well. The virus started from Wuhan and the Chinese have made tremendous efforts to stop its spread in the other parts of the country.

At this time, only China has the capability to control coronavirus. The visit of the Chinese medical team to Kuwait will help the Kuwaiti Health department to curb the coronavirus. There is no doubt that the Chinese medical team will do its best and will train the Kuwaiti medical staff in combating the coronavirus. Soon we will see the good results of this visit.

We should all pray for the success of our front line fighters (Doctors and Nursing staff) against coronavirus. We should also not forget all the persons of security forces who kept on doing their duties in these hard days and provided their full support to medical staff.

Appeal to Extend Amnesty for Sri Lankan Violators

The Sri Lankan government has requested to its Kuwaiti counterpart to increase the amnesty period for Sri Lankan residency violators up to May 30. Sri Lankan Minister of External Relations Dinesh Gunawardena presented the request. The minister had a meeting with the Kuwaiti ambassador to Colombo Khalaf Bohdhir recently.

The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment also declared in a statement that it had sent an official appeal to the Government of Kuwait, urging to it to review the period of the amnesty granted to Sri Lankans, in particular those who have violated residence, in order to surrender themselves in preparation for their deportation without paying penalties.

The statement appreciated the hospitality of the Kuwaiti amnesty, which drops all penalties for violators who turn themselves in, as well as providing them the opportunity to return to Kuwait in the future.

So far, only 320 expatriates of Sri Lankan citizenship out of 16,000 violators have reported to the Ministry of the Interior. The majority of the residency violators are in problem due to the outbreak of coronavirus as they are unable to find any job due to lockdown.
